If you love K-pop and artists, you came to the right place! I was there when it all happened! K-pop didn't happen overnight, it all started from K-pop idols in the mid 90's starting from H.O.T, Sechs Kies, Fin.K.L and S.E.S.
This is H.O.T and it all started with their hit song Candy! They debuted during their teens as their name is called HighFive Of Teenagers from SM Entertainment. If you go up to any Korean in their 30's and 40's and ask about H.O.T, they'll tell you all about it.
Sechs Kies was direct rival to H.O.T and the dedicated fans from each of these groups hated each other so much. Fans would always over buy all their souvenirs and it was a battle as to who can buy more to show their love to these idols.
Fin.K.L was huge hit because there were the first female idol group and all the guys went to buy their album as well as their posters and stickers. Lee Hyoree, one of the member from Fin.K.L just opened a café in Jeju Island and people are lining up to go there as we speak.
S.E.S is from SM Entertainment and people fell in love with them instantly because they were young and cute. Their hit songs from the first album were I'm your girl and Oh my love. People still sing these song in karaoke in Seoul.
