Reasons why you should move to Korea!

Updated: Aug 25, 2022

Korea has become a very popular destination for tourists and foreigners because it offers so much and once you start getting used to the lifestyle and the high-tech infrastructure, it’s hard to live elsewhere. Korea started so many trends from fashion to DDR(Disco Dance Revolution). From BTS to Parasite, it all started here and foreigners are just realizing it now. For those of you who are deciding which country to try visiting, you should definitely Korea as one of the top on your list and here are the reasons why.

Efficiency of shopping online

You order something online and it’s at your door within 1-2 days. They even deliver on the weekend. You can order groceries online too and it’s at your door! Shipping and handling is incredible cheap since Korea has an efficient logistic system. You can check the status of your delivery via app and the GPS shows you where your parcel is. You can even call the parcel delivery person over the phone.

Crime-free city

Personal safety is one of the good things about Korea. The crime rate is incredibly low and I’ve never witness any crime while living here. You’ll frequently see people leave their laptop in a café and comeback after hours and it’s still there. You can go anywhere at night and feel safe as there are CCTVs pretty much every few blocks. It’s really rare you hear a police siren in Korea.

Coffee, Coffee and COFFEE!

Koreans love coffee and there more than 10 coffee shops within 5 minute walking distance from my home. Starbucks, Kustom Coffee, Mega Coffee, Tom N Toms, Paul Basset Holly’s and Coffee Bean just to name a few and I don’t even live in a commercial area. So you can just image how many varieties of coffees you can taste everyday. I’m a frequent drinker of coffee and I visit different coffee shops everyday for a different taste of espresso. Koreans typically love Americano which is espresso shots with water.

Job opportunity!

If you are coming from an English speaking country, there are many opportunities to work in international schools and English academies. You can always start from those places and move up or move to a larger company once you have gained some experiences. Korea is full of potential as it’s heavily in the trade, IT and financial sector. It’s a good place to set up a start-up as well as there are so many people living here.

Cost-effective health care system

Getting sick is usually a financial burden but not in Korea. A consultation with a doctor won’t cost you more than 8 000 KRW ($6 USD) and the antibiotics and painkillers are a similar price if not less. For your convenience, the medication is packaged into separate packets with pills that you take each day. Thanks to the Korean government, everyone can enjoy the healthy lifestyle.

K-pop!

You can never get enough of K-pop in foreign country but it’s all possible in Seoul. From BTS to Gangnam style, it all started here! There are so many K-pop stores and many concerts are happening within Korea so you’ll never miss your favorite K-pop artist.
